Default Will these work???

I've been trying to read up on here on the speakers and how much of a pain in the *** they are to get working right. I bought these today and I was wondering if they would work on my 01 Z28 w/Monsoon.

For the doors I picked these up
http://www.alpine-usa.com/US-en/prod...?model=SPR-17S
since I read on here that you'd be better off getting component speakers rather than the regular coax. Ive yet to attempt to install those but I did learn that you have to take off the whole door panel to get to them??? Sounds like a pain in the ***.

And for the sails I pulled the wires going to the hatch speakers and looking to put these in http://www.alpine-usa.com/US-en/prod...model=SPS-17C2

I appreciate any imput on these. Im dying to get my system going. I'm also using http://www.alpine-usa.com/US-en/prod...model=CDE-9852 as my head unit.

Thanks!!!

For the Camaro...IMO, coaxials are better replacements since we don't have a separate tweeter location like the Firebird does - but you can make anything work.

Sails: why do you want full range there? are you adding a sub as well? Anyway...no sure how much power the hatch speakers get, but it is plenty for rear fill.

Door removal is simple...I'm sure there is a "walk through" somewhere.. Basically, be careful and use common sense. Do not attempt to remove speaker grilles only - as there is not enough room, and you will very likely crack the grille trying to remove it.

fredmr39 is correct - coax in the doors of a Camaro would be much better. You think getting the door panels off is a pain in the ***? Wait until you try to figure out where to mount those tweeters.

Most of the talk around here about using components instead of coax is about Firebirds because they come with separate components from the factory. Camaros also have components in the doors but they are mounted coaxially - there is no separate mounting place for the tweeters. Certain models of coax speakers are fairly easy to modify so that they can be wired as components to match the factory wiring.

I'm an idiot, i read that like 3 times, but I never paid attention that it was only the firebirds that have tweeters.

How is that not full range? I plan on adding a stealth sub in the near future though.

at the risk of being too self promoting.. tweeter pods are always an option for the camaro.

Coax means crappy crossover. Tweeter can be mounted next to the woofer using double sided tape.

I dont trust myself just tapeing the tweeters to the door. I think i'll just return those and get the sames ones im using in the sails. I haven't taken a look at the wiring in the doors, but im assuming that there are two sets or wires going to the speakers? and which set do i use to plug into the coax? I hate going through this, but Id rather try this out first than shelling out 60 bucks a pop for an install over at best buy
