Well come to find out I had a monsoon system. The car is plain jane Formula and came with a tape deck so I assumed it didnt. After figuring that out we bypassed the stock amp and got everything wired correctly. Why the **** the thread about bypassing the monsoon amp isnt a sticky or in the FAQ is pretty damn boggling, and the input and outputs is backward in the wiring diagram link!

The thread about bypassing the Monsoon amp isn't a sticky because it is almost never necessary to bypass the amp. If you're upgrading a head unit and speakers they will work fine with the factory amp. If you're using your own amp then you should be rewiring with better wire. The only reason to bypass the amp is if you want to power the speakers directly from the head unit using the factory wiring - and the only reason to do that would be if the amp died, otherwise why give up the additional power.

Considering the wiring diagram is straight out of the factory service manual, I would be interested in more details about any incorrect listings.

Except that the sail panel speakers only get sub frequencies from the amp. That's why I bypassed mine, I put 6.5 coaxials in my sail panels and wanted full range going to them. I bypassed the amp and run them off my head unit. Man, they do sound much better too!!

Yes, but you can accomplish the same thing by disconnecting the hatch speakers (which aren't much use anyway) and just pulling those speaker wires forward to the sail panels to provide full-range signal. So again, there's no reason to bypass the amp.

My friend that helped and honestly did almost all the wiring is an electrical engineer. He said the inputs and ouputs on the diagram are backwards, and sure as **** I watched him switch them.If you use jumpers its not relevant but we cut the harness. As for not bypassing the amp,we ran all the wires form the speakers to the HU first and it was a waste of about 5 ******* hours!!!
