How's this setup sound? I have 4 Alpine type-s coax highs and a Sony HU in my car right now. I'm looking to put some power to those highs and also get some subs. How do you guys think these parts would work out. Any and all feedback/suggestions welcome. Subthump box for for the hatch opening. Amps will either be in rear seat deletes or under subthump box 2x Alpine SWS 1023D subs (2+2 Ohms, 900W peak, 300W RMS) 1x MRP F-450 for highs (70Wx4 @4 Ohms, 140Wx4 @ 2 Ohms) I need some recommendations on which amp to use for my subs. I can only have 1 due to where it will mount, so it would obviously need to be a 2-channel amp. Thanks guys. |
Heat may be an issue for amplifiers underneath a subthump box. Also, the box would wind up sitting on all of the wiring going to the amplifier(s). Just a thought. :drive: |
I thought the subthump box didn't go all the way down?? |
I'd use all Class D amps if you don't want to give them ventilation. Pioneer PRS-D4100F, Eclipse XA series or Alpine PDX series are the common full-range Class D amps. Lots of choices for Class D sub amps, try Phoenix Gold. I had a Pioneer PRS-D4000F (pretty much same internals as 4100F) and it sounded good but it went for a swim (water leak) and blew... Will be going Eclipse or Alpine for a replacement because I want more power than the 4x75W of the Pioneer. |
