I want Some THUMP in my SAIL PANELS

Well as you all most likely know I have been doing a little too much bumpin and i blew the bass speakers out in the sail panels would these fit http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Pair-...em250197494349 and if not I want 2 6.5 inch speakers that hit like subs if you can list some let me know that are decent in price :D

kmgsix08 12-12-2007 08:33 PM

1st off, those are shitty. and 2nd, if you want that much thump in the sail panels, just get some 8 inch subs and do a custom cut-out. or i have some 6.5" mbq subs left over from my system upgrade

kmgsix08 12-12-2007 08:36 PM

i take that back, for all the effort it would take to put in 8" subs, just buy some high-end 6.5's

just1news6 12-12-2007 08:42 PM

How did those subs sound did they hit harder than the stock ones?

kmgsix08 12-12-2007 08:54 PM

yupp but i suggest gettin some up front too. i had them up front and in the sails. and when i put an amp to them they really pounded(for a 6.5 inch speaker). but now i have upgraded the entire system to diamond d6 stuff.

do you have monsoon?

just1news6 12-12-2007 09:06 PM

yes i do

kmgsix08 12-12-2007 09:09 PM

okay well you'll prob be okay with just replacing the sails then. let me know what you decide

Do Not Get Pyle They Are A Pile Of Sh!t

NO NOT BUY 6" MID-BASS SPEAKERS!!!!!!

BUY 6" SUBWOOFERS

my brother bought 6" kicker mid-bass speakers a little while back :bang: - they do what they are ment to do .. is be a mid-bass not a subwoofer

mid-bass speakers are to bridge the gap between subwoofers(bass) and your main speakers(treble)

so if you are looking for bass and not not low pitched treble -- get a 6" sub or buy some stockers for your sail :D

If your looking to get real thump from the sails aftermarket amplification would be your best bet along with the doors. With aftermarket amplification I have a great deal on the CDT M-6. This is a midwoofer. It has very good range but leans more toward being a sub than a midbass. They also fit with no spacers in the stock sail location. Couple this with a nice set of door components and you would have good bass response and better overall sound quality.
If your staying with the stock Monsoon set up than the ED eU700 is pretty much your only choice for a stock setup. It's the only DVC 6.5" sub available and they are back ordered through January last I heard. They also require a spacer to fit in the stock location plus some drilling behind but they wire just like stock for the Firebird/Trans Am using all 4 wires.
I have several sets of midbass drivers but they are 4ohm SVC. For the T/A you'd have to use one set of the 4 wires and lose some low end volume out of them. Prices start at $89.00 a pair and are much better quality than anything Pyle makes.
