daytime running lamp didn't work
 

I have 04 gto and i left my headalmp on because the daytime running lamp switch was on so it should have shut the headalmp off. well in the morning i go to start my car, nothin the battery was completely drained. Has anyone had the same problem on 04 gto ? If so what is the cause ? could the daytime running lamp switch gone bad ?? My car only has 23,000 miles & out of warranty this should already go bad.
