Sound Guru's please help!!!

hello everyone.
All this is for my 1987 iroc camro

Im trying to get a good system going and I want to do it right and do it once.

Here is a list of what I Have :

JC POWER amp wires with
-17' gauge clear translucent braided power wire
-3' 4 gauge black translucent braided ground wire
-17' 18 gauge remote turn-on lead
-40' 16 gauge speaker wire
-Dual Twist 5M RCA Cable
-Installation accesories

http://www.onlinecarstereo.com/CarAu...roductID=13488 Audiobahn A4004T amp
new powe antena ( stock just rebuilt) and chillin in my room
with Front and rear Infinity refeance speakers.
and that is what I HAVE

Now my question is do I need another amp ? If so should I run a 1 channle mono amp for the sub? OR guy sell my amp and get a 5 channle amp

I want to to this right the first time and not have to redo it later on. I also want to do the install clean as possible so less wires the better so I am kind of leaning to the 5chl amp.( thats if I actualy need one)
I am planning to cut a piece of wood to fit inthe spare tire well, cover it with some fabric( to mach my carpet) and mount the amp onto it.

So please let me know what I should do. I would like to get this done soon.

thanks
mo

If you buy the CDA-9884 it comes with a free iPod cable and the installation harness, install kit, and antenna adapter. I would do some research on thirdgen.org to make sure you get an install kit that will allow the head unit to mount flush. I just picked up the 9884 and it looks like a nice unit, won't have it installed for another 2 weeks though.

You will definitely need at least a mono-amp for the subwoofer.
Also, it is up to you whether you want to use a 4 channel + mono, or a 5 channel amp. I would just use the one with the best specs/quality.

If you can get the power rating for your speakers plus supply the sub the correct amount go for it! In my case with all the subs I have used I don't see a 5 channel that will throw 800 Watts or more at a sub plus power the others right. Reason I always have two amps like a good 4 channel for speakers and Mono-D for the sub.

One of the things im concered with is that; I don't want a mess of wires, I want to use as little room as possible and I want it to sound good. I feel I have a decent syteme so far but I want to finish it up the right way.I'm thinking about puttin the amp in the spare tire well screwed onto a peice of wood with some fabric to make it look good, and cut to fit using a template with cardbord fist.

If you are looking to save space and keep wiring from traveling more spread out, then the a 5channel AMP would work best. It would make for the smallest footprint and keeps most of the wiring in 1-2 locations vs 2-4 locations. Easier to keep the cabling neat.

BUT. Please run your signal wiring opposite of the power. AKA Run the RCA's down 1 side and power down the other. With speaker wire, it's not much of a problem since the signal is too low to inject itself and even if it did, it's would be next to impossible to hear it.

But, if the signal is injected over the RCA's, then that signal becomes amplified by the amplifier and you WILL be able to hear that.
