help installing door speakers!

I have the door panels off,but the tweeters are on with some sort of tabs.. and I have spacers for the woofers and those are throwing me for a loop also..grrr I know a lot of you have done it.. Oh Whitebird,where are you?

You take the 'tabs' off.. + install the new tweeters using the same bracket to hold it

yes,but how do they come off? and the new speakers don't line up with the holes on the factory bracket and neither do the adaptors..arg

You have options! Put the tweeters where you need them in the openings (centered). Go around the outside with a heavy bead of good glue/silicone (I use GE Silicone 2 in clear) if you think you may need to remove them later or something. For more permanent use a hot-glue gun around them. They don't move much if any at all since they are just highs so glue/silicone worked fine for me and I can peel them out and remove the silicone if ever needed. Allow them to fully cure in place before moving the panel.
