Twin Turbo 6th Gen Camaro Gets a Massive Power Boost
The new Camaro is already hugely powerful, heck, it’s even more powerful than a stock C7 Corvette. But there are those that can’t leave, or don’t want to leave well enough alone. Those people are my heroes. They want to just watch the world burn in a cloud of tire smoke, and that my friends, is a very good thing for the rest of us.
Thanks to Redline Motorsports, and a customer that didn’t know the definition of “perfectly acceptable,” the shop took out a set of turbochargers, and went to work on the new Camaro’s engine bay. With just the turbochargers, the twin-turbocharged V8 Camaro now makes 657 horsepower to the rear wheels. That, is impressive. Especially when you consider that the car is running pump gas, and stock internals.
What this means is that the LT1 in the new Camaro is capable of much, much more power, and we’re eager to see what tuners can do for the already brilliant sportscar. Who’s ready for triple turbos!
