Pratt & Miller Corvette to Run World Endurance Championship Like a Boss!
Leading up to my first ever road race as an official journalist with real life press credentials, you may start to see a few more articles geared towards it.
Next week I’m headed to Road America to cover the Continental Tire Road Race Showcase with Tudor United Sportscar Championship (IMSA) and I will be detailing my experience throughout the weekend, so stay tuned.
But first I begin with the Corvette works team and a potential third car being run. The news comes from Sportscar365 who have heard rumblings that the Corvette works team of Pratt and Miller will be using its spare chassis, the one used for testing and development in the World Endurance Race at Circuit of the Americas in September.
The race is set to be a double header with the TUSC race taking place first, and then the World Endurance Championship race right after. This means that if the team decides to run the WEC race, they will have no break and run both back to back. That would definitely be a real feat if they can pull it off.
Not only that, but the team is currently running in first place in the standings in the IMSA series. Taking the time and energy to run both events might put them at a disadvantage, but this team has never backed down from the difficult.
The third car would run in the GTE-Pro class at the race and run along Ferrari, Aston Martin, Porsche, and Audi with their production based cars.
Hopefully the team can get a working car, and good strategy down for the race, I’d love to see the Corvette running along the Prototypes again and not just have to wait for LeMans next year.
