DR's / Slicks for 11's?

DR's / Slicks for 11's? I've been putting off mod'ing my car for 11's due to 'life' in general.
This year I'd like to throw down some more muscle and grab my < 11.99.
Right now I'm sitting at 12.51 @ 116 on street tires. I'm pretty sure
setting up some drag radials, or a slick will get the half second, but
I don't want to bust up the rear-end. It's a 3.24 factory gear, and
275/35/18 tire (< yuck), factory suspension too.
I have some ideas for exhaust tuning, and suspension mods to shave a
couple of tenths; I'm more about tweaking the existing setup before
resorting to tires... basically because I just want to roll up and race, then
drive home.
Is anyone here hitting 11's on street tires and T-56 by chance?
