Grenaded my 10 bolt chasing a 10 sec pipe dream....
I've been having trans/converter issues for a couple of months now and finally got all that sorted out. Last night a couple of buddies agreed to accompany me to the track and test out the new setup...My exact goal heading down there was a low 11 sec pass @ 125 mph.....I hit that goal on my first pass with an 11.2 @ 125mph pass with a 1.66 60 ft(stalled the car to 1500 on that pass)....I should have just slapped my street tires back on the car and headed home but noooo i figured if i stalled the car higher and got a decent launch, i could break into the 10s....So i stalled the car to around 1800-2000 rpm on the launch... That pass felt much stronger than the 1st and yielded 11.1@126 with a 1.60 60 ft...
At that point i felt i could taste the 10 sec time slip so on the last pass, I did a long smoky burnout, stalled the car higher than usual and let it rip....150 yards after the launch, I head that deafening clunking noise....Yup my 10 bolt let go. Overall i was very happy with how the car performed. I just need to get a better rear end on there and head back..Hopefully with a built rear and some slicks, i can break into the 10s...
Mods are in my sig. All passes were with the heavy 17" TT2s and 315/35/17 ET ST Drag Radials....

Wow. An auto with a broken 10bolt. Doesn't happen often but obviously it does happen lol. Sucks to hear that.
I should be able to crack 10s in my car with a few tweeks. I would feel very positive braking 10s with your mph. Get a rear and you should have it no problem. Get the weight down a little too if you can. My race weight for the 11.1 was about 3450.

I do agree that a beefier rear end, some light wheels and some slicks will do this car a lot of good. The weight is probably whats going to make it harder to cut deeper into the 10s...I think the roll cage, the iron block, the heavy TT2s, the blower and accompanying components are the reasons why its such a boat anchor....I might have to start thinking about deleting a few things to shed some weight...I would love to get down to your race weight for sure.... That'll probably have to wait till the winter though...
