Ah, just reread your last post and you said the tune was not updated. That could definitely be your issue!

Yea man....get that thing tuned and check the trans out. You'll probably be on the way to getting the performance you should have then.

I wish i could say my trans is slipping but my car is what it is, going on here im slow but in the last 5 years at my local track i have the fastest cam only and now heads/cam car ive seen, the ones with similar dyno numbers at the same shop but less weight loss and gearing do about 2-3mph less than me

Sounds trans, tune or a combo of both issue. I'd expect better traps than that. Definitely get a retune.

Have you also replaced the simple stuff? Plugs, wires, fuel filter, clean your maf etc?

I don't think the trans is slipping, but I am concerned with the 3rd gear vibration consuming power. It may be negligible though. I agree on an updated tune required. The simple stuff is all done, new plugs & wires, fuel filter, intake tract all cleaned.

This thread got me thinking and I put on paper everything I want to do over the winter. I started a new thread in the drag racing section if you are interested in following.

Thanks All!

I ran the car over the hill to FJ Performance and put it on their Dynojet dyno. The first time on this dyno. It made 376 hp and 365 ft-lbs.

The trans looked good, no slipping. This pull was with the converter locked. I did find out the injectors were at a 98% duty cycle. I'll post the curve on my other thread.

That could be the issue. Not really slipping but just turning your power to heat. There has been a ton of guys pick up time just off the trans rebuild with no real issues showing before the rebuild.

Typical DA is 3000-4000 and i run 11.9-12.0s@114-115ish then, best time in my sig was 1900DA, its a slow track haha, pullied cobras on the 480-500whp range are right on par with me too, even a heads/cam ls7 z06 only trapped 121 last time i was there when i was doing 115 that night

What I was thinking too. A few people here locally had the same thing happen.

I guess the way I look at it, if the sunshell is vibrating then it is converting rotational energy (torque) into something else, ie vibration and heat. I notice the vibration at steady state driving, but not at full power, nor if you shift into OD. I will assume the vibration is still there in full power third gear even though I don't notice it. The question is how much power is this costing me?

Thanks for the feedback.

Yea well hopefully you get it get it figured out soon. Theoretically in good weather and your mods you should have a high 10s low 11s car.
