Default torque converter flywheel bolts wont line up... Help!

I'm installing a 2006 6.0 from a GMC truck with a 2000 4l60E Escalade Transmission. I can't get the torque converter bolts to line up with the flywheel. It's like converter is just a little bit smaller.
Both the GMC and Escalade had ls motors. are there different size torgue converters of flywheels, or am I doing something wrong?
Thanks!

Does the flywheel have two different convertor patterns on it? The one I got for my cars does. It has the standard LS bolt pattern and another one that fits older convertors, so I didn't have to use a dremel to make it fit.

It only has one hole, other than the three for the converter. People actually use dremels to make them fit?

The bolt spacing is different depending on the transmission. If the 6.0 you have is an LQ4 it was most likely mated to a 4l80E and so the spacing is different than that for the 4L60E converter. Like he said, you can either dremel the holes so it fits or you could get the proper flywheel which shouldn't be hard to find since usually guys are going the other way on the swap (4l60 to 4l80).

I was told the vehicle was a 2006 denali pick up. I'm starting to doubt it though. I've seen pics of the denali motor, and mine doesn't have the HO engine cover with it.

Ensure the torque converter pilot reaches into the end of the crankshaft!

All 6.0's with 4L80e's used a FLAT flex plate. 2001+ 6.0's also had a crankshaft spacer and used longer flywheel bolts.

LS1/5.3's had a DISHED flex plate to go with the 4L60E. The 4L60E had a longer pilot to reach into the end of the crank.

the $100 question is what converter/flexplate was used with the 6.0L with the 4L60E, in the 1500HD and Caddy's. I would GUESS they used same flex plate as 5.3L and longer pilot on converter. Anyone know for sure?

the flywheel is not flat, but the pilot didn't seem to reach the end of the crank. It wasn't bolted together, bit didn't look like it would make it

If the trans is from a 2000 Escalade, it was behind an Gen I Vortec 350 (L31) not a LSx based motor. That's probably why the pilot doesn't reach which means you also need a crank spacer like this:

Thanks for that info! I'll order one of those. I'll have to find a flexplate that's the right size too.
