Sorry for the long story.
I've had my car since feb 06 and finally went to the track on sept 14. Was disappointed in my runs, but considering this was the first time I had run my car not to disappointed. Everything in my sig is what was on the car when I ran it. My tire pressure was 20# on street tires and my first launch was @ 2000rpm 60' was 2.2 1/4 was 13.59 @ 107.8. 2nd run: launch @ 2500 60' 2.2 1/4 13.51 @ 102.07. 3rd run: launch @ 3000 60' 2.19 1/4 13.46 @ 107.1. Launching felt great at all rpm's but about 3500 to around 4-4200 it felt as if it was bogging. When I asked my friend in the stands he said it looked like it was hitting a dead spot but once I got into second I was running down the car next to me like they put on the brakes. These cars I speak off were f-bodies with as far as I know the same bolt ons as me and suspension/tires I know because we all were using each other as comparison while we spoke in between runs. Well about two weeks ago I went and got my friend to do a tune on it and man what difference. He raised my rev limiter to 6800 instead of 6200 which sucked at the track and adjusted everything else where it was supposed to be. He did tell me that who ever owned it before me tried to put a tune on it and had the afr all screwed up. I figured before that I would be in the 12.9 range with what I have going on comparison's on this site, but now after the tune I believe I should be. I apologize for the long story, but I had to tell it to try to give ya'll an idea of the situation and I wanted your opinion's what you think I should expect with the tune now. Am I wrong to think that it should be in the 12's now? BTW anything not in my sig is stock. Any help and replies are appreciated in advance. Thanks.
