Illegal Window Tint Citation!

Illegal Window Tint Citation!
I got pulled over because of illegal window tint, I was just wondering how much is the ticket. Can I get it dismissed? I also received a warning for not having a front license plate mounted on the bumper. Did anybody see me? I was on I35 SB. Went to San Antonio and did not get to see ANY F-bodies around........... spent all day there.......saw only one grey Corvette.

Remove the tint yourself and go to court and have it dismissed. If you pay the fine will be about $160 give or take.
Let me guess, a State Trooper? Yea some state troopers are douches when it comes to petty **** like license plate frames and front license plates

IF I remember correctly Sept. 1 the new tint law went in to affect and the fine is up to $1000.00. BUt yes remove it they will dismiss it and then just put it back on.

SB 589 requires that a vehicle equipment safety compliance label be placed on a windshield, side or rear window stating that the window tinting complies with the appropriate provisions of the Transportation Code. Failing to place the required label on the vehicle could lead to a $1,000 fine.
If I were you, just rip it off, get it dismissed, then get it retinted. I'm curious also though, state trooper? Most down here don't care about much of anything. Went by one of our sneaky "unmarked" cars down here WOT on the highway, and didn't even think about doing anything

So about that label compliance sticker bs.
If I were to go get my windows tinted from now on, It'd have to have a label placed on it saying it complies with the tint law? ALOT of cars and trucks down here have 5% tint on the sides. Absolute darkness inside there. Knowing my luck, If I were to go out and do that right now, I'd be the first to get a ticket for that BS. lol

I got pulled over for no front plate, and talked my way out of it. Then he says roll up the window a lil bit. Measures it and says its 3%. Writes me a ticket, then tells me to get it re-tinted, take a picture, then take the pic to court and they'll throw it out. I let down the drivers window (so some light can come in), took a pic from the passenger side, and sure nuff as **** stinks, they dismissed it...

Thats right guys, it was a State Trooper. I saw him up ahead on the side from far away, I was doing the speed limit, a truck passed me by doing about 75, I moved to the outer lane, there was a car infront of me with about 3 cars in distance. Behind me there was a small truck at about 2 cars, State Trooper comes up speeding and gets between me and truck behind, there I knew he was going to pull me over. Turns his lights on and the first thing that comes to my mind was the front license plate....but he did tell me that primary reason was the tint after. He told me the allowed % is at least 25, under that its illegal and that you could have the rear window as dark as you want, but the sides at least 25%. He measured 3% on mine........

I had 3% at one time, got tired of getting harassed by troopers so I took it off and changed it to 20%. I can't stand it, it's way too see through, I refuse to go to 25%. soon enough 35% will be illegal.

Now.... I am due to appear on Court October 21 at 10:00am in Medina County, in Devine Texas. Do I talk to the judge before appearing? Or do I just wait for the day and appear in Court with my hopes to get it dismissed? So I just remove the tint, take a picture, develop it and take that to court to get the ticket dismissed, right? Would they need to see my car? If I do get it dismissed, how much are the Court fees? Thanks for all the advice and replies.
