You are welcome to your opinion. I mainly build Jeeps, 4x4's & Rockcrawlers... but I love the LSX engine architecture and I'm not a coupe/car guy. I've owned and mod'd all sorts of vehicles and I love open top Jeeps. I needed a vehicle for down in Florida to cruise the beach, throw surf gear..etc into and have fun with so I figure why not. So many people buy 4x4's and never even engage 4wd... This jeep has a detroit truetrac (torsen-type) LSD and will be an absolute blast to drive. I may put a trophy truck type IFS with long travel coilovers for pahse II or I can swap in D60's front and rear with a zf 4x4 6spd... I f I relocate the Jeep back to Maine... I firmly believe in building what you want and what you'll use. Also with gas going to $4.00/gal - I think I can achieve 20mpg with JK... fun to blow the doors off Accords and get close to as good mileage.

Recent - TJ build, Fox coilovers, custom 4x2x3/16 tube chassis...locked front/rear

1991 Toyota LandCruiser I built - Cummins B3.3T swap ~28MPG!

Love the cummins LandCruiser, I wanted to do a 4bt TJ so bad but ended up with a new JK instead, but I dont have the stones to pull out the 3.8 that I am still making payments on to pu an LS in there. Even with 5.13 gears she is awfully slow with the 35's ang gets about 14mpg

Nice. I have done a few 4bt swaps (as well as 6bt) - the 4bt is bullet proof but very loud and tremendous vibrations - just FYI. Be damn sure you can live with it before putting it into a daily driver as you can buy a lot of gas/fuel for what conversions cost.

B3.3T is more refined but less hp/trq - prolly OK in a TJ or JK but it was a dog in the 6,000lb FJ80 - customer loved it though - Guy out of Texas commissioned me to do the swap...

Here's a 4BT (with ultra rare P-Pump) and HY35 I recently built for a customer:

cool as hell, I love the diesel swaps and will do one when I finish the LS/mustang one day. What did you mate the 3.3 upto, tranny wise? I would actually prefer the 3.3 for the TJ but they are kind of rare compared to the 3.9 and hard to find. 3.3 mated to the ax-15 would be perfect for me on some 33's in a TJ. So is this LS 2door JK for you or a customer setup? Where are you located? PM me if you want, dont want to **** of the fellow LS'ers

Default LS in a JK

Your Jeep looks good, so what adapter are you going to use for the T Case.
What are you going to do about the wiring.

could you post some details on how you piggy-backed the computer? or did you just eliminate all the jeep wiring?

Jeep looks cool

I did a perkins 4-236 w/ NV 5 speed in a short bed 95 chevy a few years ago. Slow as a dog but pull down a house.

That will be pretty sweet! Any estimation on the total cost of the conversion, minus the engine and tranny? I just bought my JK almost two weeks ago and going from an LS1 Camaro to a JK is not going to satisfy my lust for horsepower. I've look at superchargers for the 3.8L, but for that price, I could buy an LS1 and tranny! I also noticed that they sell conversion kits for the Hemi, but I have not seen many people swapping for a Hemi, and for the price of the conversion alone, I could again buy an LS1 and tranny. If I do an engine swap, it would be a long way down the road due to my warranty, but I have plenty of time to gather parts for a conversion.
