kelly Bise saying he's going for 280mph!
From what I've read elsewhere the car rolled 8 times somewhere around 3/4 mile. Joe was flown out. Coherent/talking/possibly broken leg(s) That is only what I've heard though.
Seen this on FB posted by LME. Prayers sent to Joe and his family. Hope everything comes out ok. It was reported that he was conscious when he was taken to Corpus Christi. Soo thats a good thing! Hope everything comes out ok!
I can't believe the driver wasn't killed. At 3/4 mile marker, how fast would he have been going? Good luck and speedy recovery to the driver, and thumbs up to whoever built and installed the safety equipment.
No splitter supports. It probably took flight. Flat bottom and splitter make it easier to lift off. Just like an airplane wing. Flat bottom, curved top.
Any video or witness accounts yet?
Patrick called it before it happened.

3/4 mile mark he was prolly doing 200+ mph.
As for rebuilding, not likely in that car. Not much can be salvaged from it. Extreme heat like that with impact creates stress fractures within the metal structure. So even if that straight section of tubing looks alright, there's a very good chance it'll snap and impale something upon impact.

I was there this past weekend and watched it happen. The very worse part about this whole deal is them making a decision to run the car 30 minutes after the last car ran down the mile. Everything was finished for the day and the ambulance left the track 10 minutes before this happened. There were no EMS at the track when the wreck happened. Only the local police officers. The "side skirt" on the passenger side was flapping in the wind a good foot away from the car when he passed the 1/4 mile mark.

I don't think any videos have been leaked by the request of those involved in the accident. Both Joe's family and the owner of the car are pretty upset by the accident and I'm sure they don't want it going viral, which I can understand.
I understand what you're saying but in this day and age with phones having that capability...it's only a matter of time before it's posted. NOTHING is safe on the internet.
