LS1 Oil Level Sensor wiring for swap clarification
Good Morning all,
I am swapping in another LS1 into my E36 BMW after a sneak attack low oil situation led to me spinning the #6 rod bearing. I will try to not let it sneak up on me again this time!
I want to utilize the low oil level sensor in the oil pan to prevent this from possibly happening again.
I am under the impression that one of the two wires from the oil level sensor go to the PCM and the other to ground. Then, from PCM Blue pin 70, it goes to the body connector to power the dash low oil level light.
Would it be possible to splice in a regular red light to pin 70 of the blue PCM connection to be my low oil level light? Does anyone know the output voltage of pin 70? Perhaps I will need to use a relay for it to work but I just want some kind of indication!
The harness is 2000 FBody, thanks!

Use the sw to make ground on a warning lite:
12v to the lite, 1 side of the sw to the neg side of the lite, and the other side to chassis ground.
Oil is OK, float is up, and grnd side of lite is interrupted.
Oil is low, float drops, makes up the lite grnd, lites on.
No need to involve the PCM.
