best way to remove bug and bird stains from paint ok i have a new 2006 trailblazer ss and i had been going out of town the past three weekends and there were a ridiculous amount of bugs all over the front end and i washed the truck last and it seems that the bug splatter made stains all over the front end 
......what should i do?

well.. go wash em off!
for real though, i would do some serious scrubbing with good ole soap and water, then use stoner tarminator (http://www.tarminator.com/) - available at wal-mart, etc... anything left might be loosened well enough for a claybar.

I've found that using a quick detailer between waxes really helps prevent them from becoming a problem. It keeps the surface slick and protected, so bugs become more of a wipe off than a scrub off. Remember, it doesn't take long at all for bird poop to etch, so when it happens, act fast.

I agree with everyone's comments so far...
Be sure to give the paint surface a good coating of your fav wax/sealant after using Soap/clay/Tarminator, etc.
The slicker your hood is (leading edge especially), the less bugs will like to stick to it...!!!

Most bug and tar removers also remove wax, so I would at least recommend re-waxing the area. QD sprays do an excellent job of "refreshing" an existing wax/sealant, but are a poor substitute for applying a good layer of wax/sealant.

on some tough bugs that i have gotten on my car (usually the ones hit at ludacris speed) that give me a hard time, i have found that goo gone gel worlks awesome. it does however, like the bug and tar remover take off wax, so go back over the area when your done.
