Same guy who sent me all this has talked to me a little about the Gen V's and what he has seen going on with them. He doesn't like them for many reasons, has made mention that the Gen IV's will be the last of the GM engines that the aftermarket will want. I forget all of what he has said, but he hates them for some reason.

Theres nothing wrong with AN fittings by any means....Most Larger teams in all forms of racing have been using wiggins for awhile... You dont need tools..which means no need to get a wrench someplace it barely fits...which takes time.. precious time in most cases....they wont cross thread.... there is no 37 degree flange to worry about sealing up on....they are lighter... draw backs are cost... that 4000 dollar total you mentioned would be quite a bit higher with wiggigns also you cant make your own lines..they have to be made with a crimping machine...

Its just been a long time since he talked to me about it and I don't recall what he said. I recall something about plastic internal engine components and an ECM that would be nearly impossible to hack into for some reason. I'll ask him to see if he can divulge any more info.

That's what they said about the GTR ECU before they came out.

OK Genius, how about reverse rotation from what the usual rotation on LS engines is. Does this make you happy ?
This Engines Water pump is clearly driven off the inside ribbed portion of the belt. This would be so much simpler as I am only running a Alternator.

Is it just me or does 450 hp seem anemic compared to the current offerings and the general expectations of VVT and DI?

the 450 number is NOT an official power rating.
since this is advanced engine..
i cant wait to see what the potential insanity these engines will bring. i want to see what these heads look like on the inside, the oil galleries, and how good the "stock canted valve" heads really are. the l92 heads, intake, etc was all out before the engine and the cars/vehicles that had them. anyone have word on these things?

Even though the advertised peak ratings aren't 500+ the new lt1 will be making 50+ftlbs under the curve in some areas, giving the bet of both worlds with a high peak and nice low end all while matching the current LS engine's mpg...GM went the route of making the engine more efficient as well as more power (450/450 compared to 436/428 ls3)...so while I'm not a fan of the lt1 the technology is way ahead of other companies v8s...long live the chevy small block!

Thanks, MSURacing thats exactly what I have been looking for . Looks like the waterpump alone can be had for around $450.00 I can build the rest. After another search even Edelbrock is building one too. Stan.
