Re: calipers
I just did my rear calipers this weekend on my Pewter Formula. I did two a two tone affect with black and a charcoal gray metalic. Here are some thumbnails of the pics, click on them if you want the full size version:
BEFORE
AFTER:
Sorry the pics are so bad. I plan on painting the inside edge of the rotor black next weekend and will get some better pics once it's all done.
The rest of the pics can be found here:

Re: calipers
It depends on what you are looking to do with your car. I also have a pewter camaro and decided to paint them black with Afterthoughts 'CAMARO" and 'SS' decals from Teri9672 (LS1Tech). Red is more flashy but everyone has red. If you are looking for something to grab more attention, check out this guys car. www.cardomain.com/member_pages/view_page.pl?page_id=314999
I personally think it is one of the best looking Fbodies around. The metallic or anodized look is pretty cool and different. I think this is what B-man was referring to, clear lacquer
Whatever you decide, take your time, plan on a full day, use some engine enamel paint, 500 degree paint, and let it dry really well before putting things back together. If you do go with polished make sure you cover it with high temp clear coat or your nicely polished calipers will look just like those of a POS ford explorer in no time. Good luck..

Re: calipers
Joe, take your time, sand everything, and degrease with simple green or something similar. I am currently in Japan and just saw a Ferrari 456 where the jackass painted the calipers by doing nothing more than pulling the wheel, covering the rotor, and unloaded some paint in the general direction of the caliper face. I almost cried when I saw the horsesh!t job he did on a car of that caliber!! This is not a good area to cut corners.. Good luck
