I say you could go with a 295 without any problems. I have 295's on a 9 inch wide wheel. I do wish they were 10's though

Xsta Z28, I know I can go bigger than that. There are people running 315/35's on the same size wheel. I've heard that 315 is the MAX but folks debate if it's safe and looks terrible. Anyone got any pics of a 315 on a 9.5 inch rim?

When I had 295's put on my 10.5" wide rims the installer told me that 10" is the MINIMUM wheel width for a 295. So for your original question of what is the maximum width tire that can be run 'safely' on a 9.5" wide rim is: 285. But who is Michelin to say what is safe or not.

Don't get me wrong, I did say Safely. But i've heard that 9.5 is the minimum for a 315...just trying to get the facts.
Thanks for playing.
