Default New Interior Mod

Hey guys/gals. Some of you may recognise me (jjdynomite) from some other boards. Im posting it here in the appearance misc forum, for one theres not really anyplace for interior stuff on this board, and it somewhat fits the appearance bill as well. Any ways, I know most of you guys dont have what some would call a "quiet" car.... neither do I and to be honest I was getting a lil tired of the noise. Conversations were short, at best. Phone calls were pretty much out the window. So that got me thinking... What can I do as far as sound barriers that wont break the bank.

After talking it over with a friend Brian at TSC ( Triangle Specialty Coatings) I decided to pick up a few gallons of a DIY kit AL's Liner. Some of you may or may not have heard of it. Its pretty much the same as a spray in bed liner but with rubber chunk mixed in for more sound deadening properties.

Anyways heres a few shots of what Ive done.

One of the best things about it is it can be 100% hidden if you choose, and the ride quility is much better simply because theres no more ehaust resonance inside the car, road noise is cut in half and its actually nice to have a conversation in the car with out having to say "what?" and "I cant hear you" anymore. Total weight added to the car was only 13lbs using 2 gallons.

Its a great quality kit that comes with the spray gun, hopper, and 2 gallons of DIY AL's liner in your color of choice.

Had no other place for em, lol. The carpet may cover them, but I know they're there.

could have gone with with Raamat, fatmat, Edead amongst that. I am afraid that would smell like tar in the summer?

It's polyurethane, so it doesn't smell at all when it dries. Plus it protects against rust.

I'm doing my 98 TA in it next week.

All the wires are ran through wire loom with the exception of the audio wires. So, no I dont see a problem

Looks pretty cool. My only concern are the wires you covered.

well, i dont see why you covered the wires. not like you had to...

otherwise very interesting indeed. seems as expensive as the real deal though. do you have any idea how well it works in comparison?

Dynamat cost a ton, and falls off after a while, this is permanent, cheaper and stronger.

It looks like a$$, but thank goodness it can be covered.

It seems like it doesn't weigh much & if it does quite down the outside noise, not bad.

looks like a good fix for noisy cabin. it is ugly, but not like the beggining looked nice either and it can all be covered. not sure I would do it to my car but hey, like you said it protects against rust and dampens noise so glad you are happy with it.

lol wtf.... If you have no other place for them why not sell them to me, because on my fenders is a much better place for them than buried under your carpet in your car.

haven't tested it yet with a decible meter. prolly should have done it before and after. There is a huge noticable difference tho
