Just got my kit, how did you guys separate the bulb from the housing? Screw driver? grinder?

They're glued in. I bought some o-rings from Home Depot that fit between the HID bulb and case and they seal really good without using silicone.

OK well i found out that these are OEM i guess and do not have the ridge cap, so i broke both lens fighting it.

Went to walmart and got 2 new ones that twist out. How does the HID go in the lens? The bulb has a rod on it and does that face the top or bottom of the lens? Or left or right? Pics of how you guys did it would help.

I would recommend against putting HID in Halogen Reflector housings due to the resulting bad beam pattern and glare.

With that aside....

The "rod" on the HID bulb is the return wire and it is coated in ceramic. When the bulb is installed in a housing, the return wire should be on the bottom.
