Default Is this a dumb idea?

I want to put a 98-02 Camaro SS hood and spoiler on my 2001 Camaro Z28. Would that be lame since it's obviously not an SS?

Ya the SS badge would scream poser. I just wasn't sure if the hood and spoiler would too.

Go for it. I've already got my hood now I just need to find a good deal on a spoiler. Like others have said, don't badge it ss.

Even just one or the other typically looks better. All these cars have to have the non-flat hood though. SS is the best imo.

Exactly.

Nothing wrong with putting an SS hood and spoiler on the car, just don't put SS badges on it.

My 02 cents is if you wanted an SS, why not save up for an SS? By the time you purchase the car, hood, and spoiler, you probably could have had enough for one. There's usually one floating on autotrader every 2-3 months. At least when I was looking for my Z28.

I think it's a great idea and I would even take it up a notch and get the functional ram air assembly to go with it.

Do you really need to ask? Its your car, so do what you want. OEM parts always fit better than aftermarket, which is why I chose to go the same route...good luck

Go for it! The parts do look great and MANY people do exactly what you are thinking about...

Do a search for Sunoco hood as mentioned...You might find you like them better than the SS hood.Nothing against the SS hood (after all I have one! LOL!) ,but the Sunoco looks really cool along with the SS spoiler... Been wanting one myself!

everybodies situation is different, in the next few months i plan on picking up a SS at auction but if a Z28 rolls through that has 50k on it and is a 6 speed in a color i like and i can get it for 5 grand im going to jump on it.....and then because i originally wanted a SS the hood and spoiler from one would end up on it.
