Default NEED HELP. Aftermarket spoiler fitment.

I picked up this ss spoiler yesterday. Got a really good deal on it so I cant complain to much. The spoiler itself fits great. When I was installing it with the hatch up I was actually suprised how tight it fit. Then the fun came. When I closed the hatch I noticed that the spoiler sat about 1/2 to 3/4 of an inch below the top of the qrtr panel. Basically the spoiler is too short on the sides. I have a couple of ideas about how to make it work but I was wondering if anybody had some input. I plan on buying a oem spoiler one day but I want to try to make this one work for now. Thanks in advance.

I don't know how good you are with body work but that looks like fiberglass and bondo repairs to me. That is an EXCESSIVE ammount of gap that felt or foam spacers just won't fill.
