Halos Installed
Well, after detailing my car over Christmas, I decided that my headlamp enclosures SUCKED. They were very scratched and whited over. No amount of rubbing compound could save them.
So, I ordered a pair of black Halo's off of ebay from this fellow:
http://cgi6.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/e...=sprinter91801
And he shipped them right away. I got them yesterday, and installed them today. They seem to be of decent quality - no worse than stock, IMO - and weren't bad to install (even though I'm quite **** about wiring).
The only install tip would be to turn the screws to 'suck the enclosure in' before trying to install.
Hopefully they can stand up to foot-off-the-ground wheel pulling 1.4-1.5 60' launches. We'll see in a couple weeks.
I like 'em. I was unsure about them when I ordered them (ricey?), but after installing them, I'm glad I did. I'm not much on appearance mods (how many posts do I have in this section ), but this one works for me.
Attached are some before and after pictures.

Thanks guys. Glad nobody's raised the rice banner yet.
I wired them in with the 2-wire daytime running lamps. They'll run the 'halo' all the time. My car will be lucky to see a couple thousand miles a year.
My install took a few hours. I took my time. I cut the DRL bulb wires (brown = +12, black = GND). I spliced on a foot of 'new' wires to the DRL bulb side, I then stripped the center of the 'new' wires to hook up the halo, and then I put the other end of the 'new' wires on to the wiring harness. I heat shrunk and soldered every connection, and heat shrunk wires together as I went along (look at my title <---- I build cables... LOTS of cables ). After the wire was hooked up and tested, I installed the headlamp assembly. Turn the screws to pull the assembly towards its frame, and then slide it in. Adjust to fit the profile.
I have yet to adjust the beam path, I'm still in the process of installing the spool, the car's on jackstands and the car's rear end is in pieces. Should be mobile again I hope tomorrow.

Edit - oh, and Al, the 'burb is lucky to get washed. Let alone bling-bling.

I'll try to get new full front pics as soon as I can. Right now, though, car's not going anywhere, and my toolboxes are about 2' from the nose of the car, and I can't move them... (see this picture I took yesterday afternoon - this is the 'other end' of the car).
