Default how to paint firebird speaker grills

There is that thin black lining on the inside of the grills covers, and they are a real PITA to remove. If I just spray the grills with that backing on them, the whole part will probably look like the new color (silver).

Any tips on removing that stuff?

Just paint it, that's what I did. Just make sure to shoot the paint from different angles so that it gets all the foam behind it.

Yah, what RGV_PEWTERBIRD said is what I would sugest. I painted my door speaker grills and a light sanding on the back side will take most if not all the felt stuff off.
