Automatic car washes + f-bodies = <img border="0" title="" alt="[Sad]" src="gr_sad.gif" />
Need more details...
Is this a power antenna or not? What actually broke, the mast or the base?

Well given his Firebird avatar I will assume its a power antenna.. if so then its about $70 to replace (part through GM parts direct).. you could replace it with a non power setup for ALOT cheaper (like andy offered)
Sorry to hear.. but stay away from the car washes (especially the ones where they touch your car!!!)

I worked at a soft cloth car wash for a couple of years, and I would say 75% of all cars with power antennas left up, during the wash came out sans antenna - expensive lesson.
Easy to replace, just remove the spare tire (you'll see the mounting bolt near where the spare tire hook goes, unplug antenna lead and power cables, remove bolt and pull antenna straight down, the fender mount is a rubber socket, you'll see when you disassemble. Install in the reverse.
The black antenna part number is 10282646 and the cost is $65.91 plus shipping.
