Just bought a 2001 TA ws6. The rearend is rusted over. Is this normal on these cars or what?

Yes, but it is just minor surface rust. Just get some POR-15, and you will not have have to worry anymore.

POR = Paint Over Rust (remove the loose stuff first)
I think the 15 is their 15th try to get the formula right.

I have heard that this product works well and it has been mentioned on some car tv shows. I have no experience with it though.
