I saw on the VFN site they have hood and regular style hoods. I don't really get what the different is? it doesn't have the loop for the latch? I thought the hood pins would be cool but I'd still want the latch to keep anyone out of there.

yes, the hood doesn't have provisions for the latch, the other one does.
