Default Need seat help

I am looking at getting some different seats in my 99 Pewter SS. I want something that will look good and hold me in better than my stock seats which don't really hold me at all. I was looking at the Corbeau Carrera (CR1). Does anyone have these? I know I'll have to give up my power seats wit them but they look very supportive. Also what do you think of colored seating such as red or blue. I see they now offer grey too. Any other suggestions. Thanks.

I also heard that Firebird seats are a direct bolt in for my car as well? Is this true? I hear they are pretty supportive, are they? Don't you guys have an adjustable lumbar or something like that as well. Will this work in my car? Also will the 99 Firebird seats come in the same shade of grey as mine are, or at least close? Thanks again.

Greg, they look really nice in your car. Couple of questions, Is AQ9 what I would need as far as a part# for the seats and then just ask for a certain color? Where did you get the headrest embroided at? Do the seats feel better than the stock Camaro seats? Thanks.

Rob, AQ9 is the GM option code for the seats. The Corvette also has optional "AQ9" sport seats as well that are completely different from the F-car version in the Firebirds and export Camaros.

I don't know what the P/Ns are for the entire seat assemblies, but they're sure to be outrageous...I got mine from a local Dallas-Fort Worth guy who was parting out a '00 WS6 for $550 which included the rear seats and door panels as well. Anyone need Taupe leather Firebird door panels and rear seats????

The going rate for just the front seats is in the $500-$600 range on Ebaymotors.

Once you're on this page, do a Basic Search for "Trans Am". "Firebird", and even "Camaro" which find these seats. Just be sure to check the seller's feedback to get some kind of assurance that the guy's not a crook!

Occasionally, you'll see them in the "parts for sale" sections both here and at LS1.com. My brother bought a set of '01 ebony (black) AQ9s for his '69 Camaro from a guy on LS1.com.

1 BAD BIRD (Bob Stauffer) did my headrests:

The photo at the bottom of the page is actually one of my headrests. He's working on an "SS" logo too.

They beat the crap out of the Camaro seats, higher quality leather and are far more supportive!

If you do the Firebird AQ9 seats, also get the harness, it's GM P/N 12177553. It has three connectors:

The small white (two wire) one plugs into the existing power seat harness connector (white) under the Camaro driver's seat, which is the power feed for both seats.

Then there are two black six-wire plugs w/ two air hoses that plugs into the bottom of both seats and provides the power and air to the passenger seat lumbar and side bolsters.

They are a direct bolt-in, and are actually installed on all export Camaros! Then you can do really cool stuff like this:
