Default Ouch!! WTF is this? May need a new bumper!

Just noticed this the other day...looks like the bumper has a huge high spot on it...Look right below the bowtie and SS emblem...

Any idea on what happened or how to fix this? I may have had it for awhile but now that I know its there, its driving me insane.

Or should I just find a new GM bumper (if available)

Bumper covers can warp due to temperature fluctuation. What I would do is pull the cover off and check for any broken tabs or other damage. If you don't find any, remount the bumper and get a heat gun and heat up the affected area and smooth out the area with a small block of wood wrapped in a towel. Keep a bucket of cold water close by once you have softened the plastic and gotten the shape to go back down and take another towel and cool off the area rapidly. This will help lock in the contour you just made with the block.

Has that bumper been off the car and/or painted before?
