Those things are terrible to clean. I usually took Mothers aluminum polish and a buffer to them every time. You can do aluminum polish by hand, but it's going to take longer.
Hope that helps, but to tell you the truth, I ditched mine and used the SLP Loudmouth tips with my CME valence. All I do to clean them is spray wheel cleaner on them and run the wash rag over them once. MUCH BETTER! They look better IMO, too.

Any other ideas? I used a Dremel tool with a light abrasive buff to get the black junk off and then spent another hour going over them with metal polish by hand. They still don't look that great.
