Default Bringing back the shine on a 91 ranger

I just picked up a 91 ford ranger and it has pretty decent paint still. Its white but has black specs all over it. The paint is somewhat rough but the clear coat looks like its still in great shape for being a 91. I have two pictures but no close ups of it right now. My question is what will I need to get the specs and roughness out of the clear coat. I know the Clay Bar is going to be needed but is there anything I should put on the truck before the claybar to help get some of the iron or whatever it is out of the paint first? Any help is appreciated. Heres the two pics I have right now

GoFast has been recommending Iron-X spray to people with white vehicles.
