4th gen bumper light lense replacement???

4th gen bumper light lense replacement??? 01 SS. I'm trying to put black housing front bumper lenses in. I've took the 3 bolts out that hold the lenses to the bumper and there is no way there is enough clearance to get them out. Do you have to take the bumper cover off?

it usually takes some manuevering. I grinded down the sharp edge of the lens with a file...the outer portion right where it corners and it popped right out... the after market ones did not need any grinding to fit in or take out.

I would work the outside part first by pulling up on it then re-install the new ones in the reverse order you took the old ones out. I found it easy to take out the headlights to get done in there to see what you doing and you can get your arms down in there to get a good grip on them also.
