WS6 Hood!!!!!!!!!!!
Hey guys looking to purchase a WS6 hood for the Trans AM, my question is should I spend the 1300 to 1500 im finding them for online for OEM, or the after market one for 500, any difference or samething. Which is better lighter and going to give that power gain I want.
Any suggestions of where you guys have purchased yours would be greatly appreciated, Live in Texas near Dallas!

Ive got a glasstec Ram Air hood on my 98. I bought it already painted from the previous owner, got a killer deal that I couldn't pass up. Fits pretty well, keep in mind most aftermarket hoods take some tweaking to get to fit perfectly. The more prep you put into a fiberglass anything, the better it will look in the end. As far as functionality, youll need an OEM ram air air filter base to make it functional... I removed the rain baffling in mine, and its a straight shot right into the air filter, really great setup IMO.
So keep in mind, youll have to pay ~$600 for the hood maybe plus another $120 for shipping, then youll need it prepped and painted, another $2-300 probably, a ram air intake base, $100-200 on ebay. And you may have to buy the OEM ram air grills too if the hood doesn't come with them, that's another $60.
So yeah, in reality youre going to end up spending almost as much as you would if you just got an OEM one that matches your car, and the OEM one will always fit better. Your call!

never heard of a Chrs1313 ram air kit looked on google but no good results. Yeah I know the filter holder wont be as lifted as the ws6, but it will still be functional and gain some performance!!!

YEah like others said, no performance gain. Get a Fast toys ram air or some variation of that for a true ram air effect.
I recently got the RK sport Ram Air Hood from Dennis at Double D mods and it fits as good or better than a stock hood. I like it better since it does not have the silly nostril outline, its just smooth there and looks really nice.
That is my recommendation.

Instead of a stock style WS6 why not one of Rogers Superhawk hoods? I took off a GM WS6 for it. I wouldn't buy a hood for a performance gain though. The bottom feeding set ups seem to perform better than hood set ups anyway. I've got a CHRS1313 and the front of my air box is sealed off.

Why get a Ws6 hood then chrs1313? You completely seal off all the air entering the front.
If you want another hood, buy it... But not for ANY performance gain.

Negative.
So your telling me that if I get the SLP Air intake system and the ram air hood that the hood isnt going to gain any more power it will still be just for looks, I understand that it will capture more air underneath but air will go through the vents in the front???
