Default Removing line paint...

Do you folks have any suggestions on removing the paint that they use to paint the lines on the road? I got a butt load on the passenger side of the truck this morning. Up to 1/4" Thick in the fenderwells and fenders. The mist scraps off easily since truck was recently waxed, but the stepbars and fenderwells are a different story. I'll try a pressure washer when I get it running. Can I soak it with WD-40 or something to soften it up? Thanks all!

I think you might need something stronger.
Line paint is either an epoxy (long lines on roads i.e. double yellow lines). Or a thermoplastic (crosswalk lines, stop bars etc). The thermoplastic is heated to about 400 F then applied to the road. The little glass beads are really tough to get out, they "attach" themselves to the paint and are abrasive. When I worked for PENNDOT for a summer I asked one of the line painting guys what to do if I got this stuff on a body panel. His response will probably trouble you: He said to sand it down and repaint. I don't know what to do for the epoxy type paint if you ran over a fresh double yellow line.

Line paint is brutal. Get off what you can in important areas, but thing like the fender wells . . . Probably be easier to recoat owth black paint. Anything that will stick to a tire permanently, is stuck on a hard surface for good.

bluls1z28, where can you find plastic razor blades? I used to get them when I worked at the dealership, but haven't seen them anywhere else.
