Default Stull Billet Grill

anyone ever painted one of these things black? if so, should I clear coat it afterwards to prevent chipping/flaking?

James,
1- scuff it with a scotchbrite pad.
2- paint it with a good grey primer. (keep it about 8 inches away to prevent drips.)
3- paint it semi-gloss or satin black. I would not put a clear coat on it; I think that it would make it too shiney.

I painted mine, came out pretty decent, rock chips it a lot though. A friend of mine powdercoats so I think I'm gonna go that route now.

All I did was sand it down a little, then painted it and let it dry.
