Default does anyone notice...

how if you have a dark car (at least NBM does this anyway) and you wax it, you have to buff the **** out of the car to get all the wax off? if i don't buff it hard, you can look at my car with the right amount of shade and see dark/light spots all over where not all of the wax was cleared off. they are hard to see, but i catch them with my imperfection-finding eye. so damn annoying...

Maybe you need to let the wax dry longer?

If you waxed it when the paint was warm, then that's probably the problem. I waxed my hood a while back when it was hot from driving it around and I had the same problem you did.

You're using too much product.

Apply less to a cool surface. And depending on the product you want it to dry more (or less). For example pinnacle/zymol are to be wiped off WET (before they dry) whereas NXT and Zaino you want to dry.

It's your technique - sorry to say

Tom
