Does anyone know what the price range is to get a hood only , top and underneath painted?

to many factors to estimate, but whatever you do DON'T spray paint it, that adds all kinds of work to properly finish it when the time comes, now you could Plasti-dip for a temporary coating, but a painter will likely charge you double to paint the hood if you spray paint it first.

I got my hood painted along with my bumper and quarter panel so I can't say exactly how much, but I'd say 300-500 would be a reasonable estimate. The hood doesn't need much prep from VFN.

I wouldn't spray it either, like Daniel mentioned, a painter would charge you more for all the extra prep work. Also agree on plasti-dipping it if you're looking for a temporary solution.

I also have a Trufiber hood from the WS6 store. It fit great, but the only complaint I have is there was a Trufiber badge riveted under the hood that my body shop didn't remove. That was probably my fault for not noticing it before it was painted.

I had to get a 95 Impala hood painted a couple years ago, the body shop quoted me around 900 for top and bottom of the hood. Called another shop recently (Cause the shop I had do it did a terrible job) and they said to strip and paint would be 700. So for a decent paint job I'd guess prolly around there.

Wow I didn't realize the true fiber looked that spot on to an OEM. I would love to see it compared to a VFN. VFN is local so I can pick it up which makes it cheaper but if the true fiber looks better I may go that route.

Yeah that trufiber hood looks awesome. I'm ordering it next week.
I can get it painted and installed for $300-350. But I'm still getting quotes.

I can imagine with the turbo and all lol. Doesn't seem like it would be too hard to cut your own.

What a kickass hood. Do those heat extractors really work?

I mean they work, but I can't say how well they do haha. Usually when I put my hand behind them after a drive I can feel a decent amount of heat coming from them

I got a VFN fibreglass WS6-style one back in the day and I have loved it ever since. When it is freezing cold the gaps increase, but that is to be expected considering it is no longer steel. Looks great still, and so much lighter than stock.

One of the only easy ways to remove weight from the front that most people want to get rid of anyways!
