Default Help fix WS6 wheels

I have some 2001 WS6 wheels on my Formula that were in good shape before this winter. Now they are dull and have spots that look pitted and discolored. I've tried a bunch of cleaners and scrubbing, which made them a litte better. However the wheels still look bad. I tried some mothers aluminum polish, which didn't help either. I thought the wheels were clearcoated, but got black residue from the polish??? Any other suggestions?

The clearcoat is damaged on the polished wheels. The only real way to get them back to new is to strip the clear, polish the wheels and have them rear cleared.

If they are really bad you may want to consider sending them to these guys. They fix rims.

For future reference, I know a lot of people that put vaseline on their rims when storing their cars for winter.

camaroguy- Did you use just polish them by hand? MY concern is that there are now some rough spots on wheels. I think I might need to stip the clearcoat then sand them.
