Default Center counsel removal

Alright, I can't figure this out. Pulled the shift ****, upper counsel, and disconnected everything. Then I tried to pull up the counsel, moved it around, shifted it each way and the next, and I can't get it to come out. It's either getting stuck on the underside of the dash (right under the HVAC controls) or its getting stopped by the E-brake handle. Is there some kind of trick to it?
Let me know, thanks.

I think that's pretty much the key, gotta get the ebrake handle as close to vertical as possible. Watch out, you can scratch the ebrake handle. If I were to do it again, I would tape the ebrake handle.

theres a little thing on the ebrake gear thing you press to make it so you can get it vertical.
