Removing rear center plastic thingy

Removing rear center plastic thingy
Does anyone know how to remove the plastic piece with the firebird decal that sits between the tail-lights? I've already got the tail-lights out, but I can't get the plastic piece off. I want to remove it because I've heard that a lot of rattles come from it if you have a stereo in the back. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

It's held in place by the taillights.
If you have the taillights off, then you should be able to see where the studs from the taillights go thru the tabs on the center section.
Simply pull on the center section, it may simply be stuck in place.
It should not produce any rattles when the taillights are tight.
And if you remove it, what are you going to put in it's place?!?

I'm thinking of filling it with great stuff and putting a little closed cell between it and the rear wall. Another opition is some spray on deadener. Just wanted to get it off and see my options. Don't worry I like my non-faded firebird decal too much to let it go.
