Default Cleaning stock rims

I have stock firebird rims and they have seen better days. I was wondering what to use to clean them with. My local auto part store has all of the cleaners for polishs rims but not for regular painted rims. What is the best product to use?
-Thanks Brandon

most wheel cleaners have harsh chemicals. Just use car soap and water and polish with mothers mag polish.

Ok cool, I went out there with some simple green and a tooth brush and it seemed to work pretty good. I still have a few spots but Iam not sure they will come off. Iam guessing the polish will seal the rim.

Soap and water. If that doesn't get everything, use steel wool soaked in the soap and water.

Ok well steel wool just but marks on my wheels so I going to try something else. And the soap and water wasent strong enought to get all of the stains off.

A fine grade of steel wool will not leave marks on your rims. Although I wouldn't try it on chrome.
