car finally went...... after 8 long months of blood sweat and tears put into the motor/trans/suspension/rear etc. i finally got to send the car to the paint shop, got my mecham hood on and bumpers customized finish and sanded the body with 320/600/1000 grit wet sanded, the car will be getting wet sanded one more time with 1500 grit and shot with a house of colors black with 3 base coats, 3 coats of clear and one coat of color clear.... color sanded and buffed after paint as well....ill have it back in two weeks to put together.....
should be every bit worth the $4K im putting into the paint.......
cant wait to drive it again.....

LOL, believe me i plan to get pics up. i had the pontiac letters in the rear bumper filled in and the lines coming out from the license plate filled as well, all moldings stay removed, the antenna hole has been smoothed over (no more hole) and the mecham hood put on after a LOT of work to it. however pics of the motor build and suspension are on my webshots page. dont have the TH400 install on there tho. ill get more pics in a couple weeks of everything

color clear is a slight mix of base coat in with the clear gives it a darker tint and more of a wet look while staying pretty transparent.
SSquid. yes its house of color paint but it is still just "black" no pearls or anything else in it.
if you can wait two more weeks ill have some pics..... lol, who knows ssquid you might just see me at richmond dragway or dinwiddie this year if you go.

heh, i work for a company called long fence, im the over the counter materials distributer.

its taken me years and a lot of saving to get the car to the point where it is. but i used to work for a body shop and run my own side work on modding fbodies and vettes in my shop in hampton roads va on the weekends mostly.

I think Ill be in Myrtle beach the weekend you are talking about (Memorial) but I do want to go for a ride in that beast. So when do you have an opening for the h/c?

Dude just message me when your goin to Richmond... I will meet up with ya... I love me some house of kolor..... all their colors rock... and it isnt JUST black.. is HOUSE of kolor black... makes it more special and better... plus it holds up better as well to sunlight

i just might do that, we shall see. i might be bringing the car here to my house in NOVA just so i can drive it again daily for a while to break the motor in. however if there happens to be any good race events at richmond ill definately put her in the trailor and come down.
