Best method to seal aftermarket corner lights?

Best method to seal aftermarket corner lights? I know that alot of people have problems with their aftermarket corner lights filling up with water, but whats the best method to fix this? Is it better to try and seal the housings with sealer, or is it better to just drill a small hole in the bottom for a drain?
