Default Non air bag wheels, fitment? Adaptors?

I know my air bags don't work, as I've had my head slammed into my wheel once when I wrecked my car, so why keep the ugly *** wheel? I was at autozone today and they had a sweet *** wheel there for like 150 bucks, was really comfy too. but I have no clue how these things are mounted, and what is required to mount a non airbag wheel on a airbag equipped car and not get some gay *** idiot light...

Thanks

Umm...if they don't work now you should be getting a light. Don't know how you can disable it. It's technically illegal to remove a safety device like an airbag and replace it with a nomal wheel. I've heard of cops giving tickets for it. All you need is a steering wheel puller and an adapter to fit the steering wheel to a GM column. I've swapped steering wheels before but never in an airbag equipped vehicle.

I have swapped steering wheels on my '93 Z to one without the top of the grip ripped. It was the same wheel just newer though. There are 4 bolts on the back that let the airbag loose, if I remember right there was sensor or something to unplug and then with the steering wheel puller just yank the wheel off (you can *rent* a puller from autozone, wasn't much at all). Don't know about not hooking everything back up when you put the non airbag one on....?

Yea, I almost bought your 93 man, if you would have been a bit closer, I would have much rather had it.

Just dont get pulled over, depending where you are, you can get some crap for removing an airbag.
