Default Mud flaps......a factory option?

I could find very little info searching for these...except one post for somebody trying to take them off. I was curious if these were a factory option on 98-02 F-bodies. I know the consensus will surely involve comments about the trailer park, going mudding, thirdgens, etc....but I'm willing to give them a shot because I'm having real problems with stones getting kicked up into my fender. Does anyone have pics?

I could be wrong.... but I don't think Mud flaps were a factory option on 4th gens.

Not even sure if they were on 3rd gens.

They were only available as an option. The same package that included the Squirrel tail for the antenna and the little bobble head dog for the dash Sorry I couldn't resist!!!!

They weren't listed in the Firebird GM Accessories brochure for 2000. I'd say they weren't a factory option. Probably more like a Wal-mart option.

I've seen some genuine GM ones on Ebay just unsure if they ever offered them on the car.

It looks like you have gfx on that TA Y2k.....don't you have issues with the rear piece getting all nicked up behind the rear tire?

Mine did a great job of keeping crap off the car, seriously.

Until I took them off. The car looks better though...

Not sure if it was a factory option but they were on there when I bought it.

Usually a dealer installed option, not factory, if you want to keep the piece behind the tire from getting nicked, try the 3M clear paint protector, it's meant to be a bra, but nothing says it wouldn't stick there instead, or if you can just get a strip of it that might be a cheaper option.
Then you can avoid the trailer trash comments, that come with mud flaps

i have 4 authentic GM mudflaps that say 'Trans Am' on them sitting in my garage somewhere. They were out of production when I bought them from the dealer 3-4 years ago.

I honestly couldnt give a crap less about what other people think, I like the look of the mud flaps, and Im very far from being a redneck.

Yep, I've got a few nicks. I'm not a splash guard/mud flap fan though I'd rather have the nicks than the 'flaps.
