Default Porter Cable 7424 vs. 7336

The local lowes has the 7336 and i was wanting to see if the 7424 and the 7336 are any different besides the counter weight. im assuming these are the exact same and both do the exact same job. I really dont want to order a 7424, would rather just go pick up the 7336 at lowes.

While we are on this subject,

Are the 7424 and the 7424 HD the same?

Also, the 7424 comes with a velcro'd backing plate, some pads, but also this white pad on a permanent, plastic backing plate (It's glued). What's this for?

"The HD Plus has a heavy duty 25 ft, 16 gauge power cord to give you maximum maneuverability and performance. This cord is 2 ½ times the length of the standard cord and it’s wired into the polisher."

To my knowledge, the 7424 in and of itself only comes with one backing plate that is to be used with stick-on sandpaper and a crummy white pad that is permanently affixed to its mounting plate. The pad is not of much use. I think I threw mine out after one or two uses, because it's hard to wash.

There are several places that sell the 7424 as a kit with multiple pads and a good backing plate.

Cool, I'm throwing that weird white pad away when I get home. Thanks.
